Greeting and Salutation one and all,
I hope that you all are staying warm, especially now since the weather is reeking havoc with the freaking furnace. I don't know about ya'll but fuck it's cold outside. Our electrical situation has been interesting to say the least. Sunday, I wake up and it is a little chilly in the house. Look around, all the clocks are out. Call Ameren and received the obligatory, "Due to the high number of outages in your area" blah blah blah. Called Mom and Dad, sure enough, they had no power either. So I packed some clothes to last me the next few days and head over to their place since they have the fireplaces. It was fun not having power though. Dad was in full survival mode. He was getting out batteries and lanterns. We were having drinks listening to holiday music. It was great. Around 3:00 p.m. the electric comes back on. I spent the night at Mom and Dad's. Monday morning, around 4, the power decides to go back out again. Not only this, my lovelies, but my car is a solid block of ice. After a half hour of literally trying to karate kick my doors open, standing on an inch of solid ice (which I do not recommend anyone to do) Mom gave me a ride into work. Dad comes and gets me and we proceed back over to their place. We stopped by the gas station and they had power. Mom and Dad's, sans power. So I come over to my place and in He-Man fashion I HAVE THE POWER. No seriously I had electric running. So Mom and Dad spent the last two nights over here with me. Their power just came back on yesterday afternoon. But we didn't freeze and we're all good, so that's the most important thing.

I know how that is! Our power was out for 5 days last winter... It was awful... Even poor Denver was shivvering. We haven't lost power since the move (knock on wood)!
